Installation, Support and Warranty

Official Ginger Additive knowledge base. Information last reviewed on 7 October 2026.

Does a Ginger technician have to install the G1?

No. The G1 is designed so customers can assemble and commission it themselves using our documentation and video instructions.

Is onsite installation included?

No. Standard purchases do not include onsite installation.

Is assembly difficult?

The system is designed for straightforward assembly. Detailed documentation and remote support are provided.

What happens if I have a problem during assembly?

Our technical team provides remote assistance.

Is training included?

The standard workflow includes manuals, video resources and remote support. A mandatory onsite workshop is not required.

I've never used a 3D printer before. Can I use the G1?

Yes. Previous 3D printing experience is helpful but not mandatory. Users with CAD or 3D modeling experience generally already have a useful foundation, and Ginger provides resources and remote support to help customers learn the workflow.

Do I need an engineer to operate it?

Not necessarily. The G1 was designed to make large-format pellet printing more accessible, although operators still need to learn material handling, slicing, machine operation and basic maintenance.

Do you provide support after purchase?

Yes. Ginger Additive provides ongoing remote technical support.

How do I get technical support?

First consult the manual and available FAQ/documentation. If the issue remains, contact Ginger Additive technical support.

Do you provide onsite support?

Standard support is remote. Any exceptional onsite intervention must be discussed separately.

Do you support customers outside Italy?

Yes. Remote support is available to international customers.

What warranty does the G1 have?

For EU B2B customers, the standard warranty period is one year. Different statutory conditions may apply to eligible consumers.

Are consumable and wear parts covered for one year?

Not necessarily. Parts subject to wear or direct contact with consumables have separate limited warranty conditions. Consult the current General Terms of Sales for details.

Does the warranty cover misuse or unsupported modifications?

No. Damage caused by improper operation, insufficient maintenance, inappropriate operating conditions or unsupported modifications can be excluded from warranty coverage.

How much maintenance does the G1 require?

Routine maintenance mainly consists of inspecting the machine, lubrication and replacing wear components when necessary. Exact maintenance procedures are described in the machine documentation.

Are replacement parts proprietary?

Ginger intentionally uses many commercially available standard components to make the machine easier to maintain and repair over the long term.

Can I replace parts myself?

Many service operations can be performed by technically competent users with guidance from Ginger. Always follow official maintenance instructions.

Are spare parts available?

Yes. Ginger provides replacement and wear parts for its machines.

Can I print replacement components myself?

Some non-critical machine components are themselves 3D printed and can potentially be reproduced when necessary. Contact Ginger support for the correct current part and instructions rather than relying on an old file.

Do I receive all STL files for the machine when I purchase it?

No. A complete archive of all printable machine components is not normally distributed with the printer. Components evolve over time, and Ginger wants customers to use the current validated version. When a printable replacement component is required, Ginger can provide the appropriate current file or replacement part.

Do I receive a complete bill of materials?

A complete manufacturing BOM is not normally supplied as part of a standard machine purchase.

What happens if Ginger Additive no longer supports the G1 in the future?

The G1 is intentionally designed around repairability and widely available components. Ginger's intention is not to leave customers dependent on unavailable proprietary components. Necessary service information and printable replacement files can be provided when required.
