Test Prints and Engineering Services

Official Ginger Additive knowledge base. Information last reviewed on 7 October 2026.

Can I send you an STL file for evaluation?

Yes. Send us your file together with information about the intended application, material and functional requirements.

Can you make the CAD model for me?

We can review geometry and help assess printability. Minor preparation may be possible depending on the project. Full product design or substantial CAD engineering should be discussed and scoped separately.

I only have drawings, not CAD. Can you still help?

Yes. Send us the available drawings, sketches, dimensions and application information. We can determine what additional CAD work would be necessary before printing.

Can you estimate print time and material consumption from my model?

Yes. A production-ready 3D model allows us to make a much more meaningful estimate of print strategy, material consumption and print time.

Can I test my own part before buying a G1?

Yes. We strongly encourage customers with specific applications to evaluate representative parts before purchasing when appropriate.

How much does a test print cost?

Test prints are generally offered approximately at manufacturing cost. Pricing depends on material consumption, print time, preparation and the complexity of the project.

What happens to the test-print cost if I later buy a G1?

In many cases, the test-print cost can be credited toward the subsequent machine purchase. The exact arrangement will be confirmed with your test-print quotation.

Does Ginger Additive offer printing as a service?

Yes. Customers can use Ginger Additive's large-format printing capabilities without purchasing a machine.

How is print-service pricing calculated?

Each project is quoted individually based on geometry, material, material consumption, print time, preparation and post-processing requirements.

Do you charge per kilogram or per printing hour?

There is no universal €/kg or €/hour rate because projects can have very different requirements. Send us your model and application details for a quotation.

Does Ginger just sell the printer, or can you help us develop the process?

We see the printer as only one part of the customer's manufacturing process. Our goal is not simply to deliver a machine, but to help customers achieve a reliable production result. We can support material selection, material profiles, printing parameters, process setup and integration of the G1 into the customer's workflow.

Do you provide Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) services?

Full product design and DfAM engineering are not normally included with the machine. However, Ginger Additive can review an application, discuss printability and help customers understand how material, orientation and process parameters affect production.

Can you help us select a material?

Yes. Material selection and process development are important parts of implementing pellet extrusion successfully.

Can you create a printing profile for our material?

Ginger Additive can help customers develop and optimize processing parameters for suitable materials.

What if we've never used pellet printing before?

That's not a problem. Ginger Additive supports customers in understanding the complete workflow—from material preparation and slicing through printing and troubleshooting.

Why does Ginger ask about my application before recommending a machine or material?

Because a 3D printer is a production tool, not the final objective. Understanding the required part, material properties, throughput, quality and economics allows us to recommend a process that actually fits the application.
