G1 Applications and Industries
Official Ginger Additive knowledge base. Information last reviewed on 7 October 2026.
Can the G1 print furniture directly?
Yes. Furniture and interior products are among the core applications of the G1.
Can I print chairs and stools?
Yes, provided the geometry, material and print strategy are engineered for the expected loads. Ginger Additive does not certify the structural performance of a customer-designed part unless specifically agreed as part of a separate engineering scope.
Can I print lighting products?
Yes. Large-format additive manufacturing is well suited to customized lamps and lighting structures.
Can I print molds and tooling?
Yes. Tooling, molds, jigs and fixtures are potential applications, with the appropriate material selected according to temperature, pressure and mechanical requirements.
Can I print outdoor furniture?
Potentially. The correct polymer must be selected according to UV exposure, temperature, moisture and mechanical requirements.
Is the G1 suitable for universities and FabLabs?
Yes. The G1 is suitable for research, prototyping, material development, design education and additive manufacturing laboratories.
Can universities test experimental materials?
Yes, provided the material is technically suitable and safe for the extrusion system. Unknown compounds should be evaluated before printing.
Can the G1 be used to manufacture medical devices or orthoses?
The G1 can technically manufacture polymer parts for a wide range of applications, including research and development related to orthoses and other medical products. However, Ginger Additive does not automatically certify printed parts as medical devices. The customer is responsible for validating the material, process, finished product and applicable regulatory requirements.
Are parts printed on the G1 medically certified?
No. Certification of the printer does not automatically certify a manufactured part for medical use.
